Why Cubed
“I wanted the video equivalent of the photo workflow I already had.”
I'm a videographer and photographer and when I travel I want to capture it with my camera not just a phone. But I still want the best of those photos and clips on my phone, where I can actually revisit and share them.
For photos, that workflow is easy. I can connect my camera, open Lightroom, choose the images I care about, apply a preset, make a few adjustments and export them. Video never felt that simple.
My footage would stay on cards and drives because looking through it meant opening Resolve, organising a project, sorting the clips and grading the log footage. I often felt like nothing was worth exporting unless I was going to turn it into a finished edit. As a result, I accumulated footage I was excited to shoot but rarely watched again.
That's why I built Cubed. A quick first pass for video. I can still shoot high-bitrate log footage for anything I may want to edit properly later, while bringing the clips I care about onto my phone now, properly transformed, lightly adjusted, trimmed and ready to view or share.
